KCCNYC Celebrated Korean Heritage Day at Yankee Stadium

On Saturday May 2, thirty members of the KCCNYC community gathered at Yankee Stadium for a fun Korean Heritage Day outing as the New York Yankees took on the Baltimore Orioles. The event celebrated AAPI Heritage Month while also supporting KALAGNY’s Legal Scholarship Foundation (KALEFGNY). Each special event ticket included an exclusive Korean Heritage Yankees hat that many members proudly wore during the game.

The atmosphere throughout the stadium was especially electric thanks to the Yankees’ Star Wars celebration. Fans who arrived early received a Max Fried “Mandalorian” bobblehead giveaway, which quickly became a highlight of the afternoon for many in attendance. In a long but entertaining 3-hour, 1-minute game, the Yankees defeated the Orioles 9-4. Along with cheering on the Yankees (양키스), attendees also had the chance to hear and use a few Korean baseball terms throughout the day, including 야구 (baseball), 홈런 (home run), 안타 (hit), and 투수 (pitcher).

KCCNYC would like to thank everyone who joined us for the outing and helped make the event such a success. Spending the afternoon together provided a great opportunity for community members to connect, relax, and enjoy one of New York’s most iconic traditions together. We always appreciate opportunities to bring members of our community together through experiences like this, and we look forward to more group outings in the future.
