Our Spring Series Is Starting Soon!

Learn to speak, read, and write Korean, dive into Korean culture, practice your pronunciation, and ask questions from a native Korean speaker in teacher-led video classes.

All classes are currently held online. While we are based in New York City, students can join classes from anywhere virtually!

Our next 10 week series starts on March 18, 2024

  • • Students are encouraged to begin their Korean studies by taking both Starter and Basic I during the same series to help reinforce skills at the start of a Korean learners journey.

    • Following Basic I - Beginner Students will move into Basic II and Conversation I

    • No placement test is required for Beginner students, but if you have any questions please email us below.

    • We offer subsidized courses for Adoptees, through the generous support of the Overseas Koreans Foundation - please email us for more information.

  • • Students moving on from Basic II will begin Basic III, IV and then Intermediate Grammar classes.

    • Intermediate students are encouraged to also take Conversation II, III and IV, as well as Writing.

    • A placement test is required for any student who has previously taken Korean or may have learned at home.

  • • After completing Intermediate coursework or through a placement test, students can move into Advanced and Intensive classes

    • Advanced Students are also encouraged to take Conversation IV and Writing.

Classes Offered

    STARTER CLASS

    Learn how to read and write Hangeul, pronunciation accuracy and intro to Korean Culture

    BASIC I

    Learn sentence structure, particles, numbers, dates and time, counting (and counters!), and basics phrases for daily use in Korean.

    BASIC II

    Continue on from Basic I with verb conjugations, learning how to describe the world around you, as well as past, present and future tense and an introduction to Honorific Speech.

    BASIC III

    New section - new book! In Basic III - we begin a deeper conversation on conjugation and sentence structure, learn how to reason and argue your own points while developing more sophisticated ways of speaking Korean.

    BASIC IV

    Continuing where we left off in Basic III, classes are now instructed more often in Korean to promote listening comprehension, while we also practice translating compound sentences and conditionals.

    INTERMEDIATE

    In Intermediate, you begin to express your own thoughts and feelings more eloquently. Learning how to interact with multiple hierarchy levels in conversation and students who complete Intermediate can feel confident when they travel to Korea.

    ADVANCED

    In Advanced, we begin to deep dive in modern and classical texts, as well as newspapers, novels, poems - even web toons! Expect extensive vocabulary practice!

    COVERSATION I,II, III

    Each level of Conversation Class is meant to compliment the various grammar course levels as a secondary class to expand students opportunities to converse in Korean.

    WRITING

    Each week students present short written works based on prompts created with the class at the start of each course. Topics range from writing poetry to short stories to personal histories. This is a mixed level course and open to students taking Intermediate or higher.

  • PRIVATE TUTORING

    Private Tutoring is tailored to each students specific needs, and can also be offered in tandem with group classes to help students meet their language goals more quickly.
