Pride Month 2025: Celebrating LGBTQ+ Communities in New York City

June 2025 in New York City is brimming with events celebrating the LGBTQ+ community. From parades and festivals to cultural discussions and performances, there's something for everyone. Here's a guide to the month's highlights:

Major Pride Events

NYC’s Dyke March includes mask-required sections and champions inclusivity for people with disabilites and all gender expressions.

  • NYC Drag March: Kicking off Pride weekend, the Drag March takes place on Friday, June 27. Participants gather at 7:30 PM in Tompkins Square Park, with the march commencing around 8:00 PM and concluding at the Stonewall Inn. This event celebrates drag culture in a non-corporate, inclusive atmosphere.

  • NYC Dyke March: On Saturday June 28 the annual Dyke March kicks off from Bryant Park at 5pm. This year’s theme is “DYKES SAY NO TO FASCISM!” The New York City Dyke March is a protest march, not a parade and takes place without permits or sponsors. Any person who identifies as a dyke is welcome to march regardless of gender expression or identity, sex assigned at birth, sexual orientation, race, age, political affiliation, religious identity, ability, class, or immigration status.

  • NYC Pride March: On Sunday, June 29, the city hosts one of the world's largest Pride parades. The march begins at 11:00 AM at 25th Street and 5th Avenue, proceeding through Manhattan and concluding in Greenwich Village. This year's theme, “Rise Up: Pride in Protest,” honors the legacy of the Stonewall Riots.

  • PrideFest: Also on June 29, from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Greenwich Village transforms into a vibrant street fair. Along Hudson Street, from Abingdon Square to 14th Street, attendees can enjoy over 100 vendors, live music, drag performances, and family-friendly activities.

  • Queer Liberation March: For those seeking a grassroots alternative, the Queer Liberation March begins at 11:00 AM on June 29 near the NYC AIDS Memorial at 7th Avenue and 12th Street, culminating in Central Park. Organized by the Reclaim Pride Coalition, this march emphasizes resistance and community over corporate sponsorship.
