KCCNYC Journeys: Josh’s Favorite spots

KCCNYC Journeys: Joshua Kim

By Josh Kim

We’re taking a break from myths this July, and instead looking out for those readers interested in trips to Korea and Seoul. Here are four of my favorite things, touristy and non-touristy alike.

BUSAN

Corduroyfellaz Bar

A special spot we found. You go in off an alley into an unassuming structure, but immediately once inside you know you’re in something lovely. The vibes, the lighting, the staff – all pristine. Some of the best cocktails you’ll ever have.

Gamcheon Culture Village – Mail Post

You’ll know Gamcheon from the iconic photos of the multi-colored homes along the coast. Something lovely we found was this option inside of it. You can write and address a letter to yourself, and the kind staff will mail it to you one year later. A wonderful keepsake and memory of your journey.

SEOUL

Vic’s Lab 퍼컬 Color Analysis

So, so fun. You may have seen this across social media, but the great specialists at Vic’s will show you exactly what colors match you the best based on your skin tone and hair. I’m a Summer Light. Please let us at KCCNYC know what you get!

Banpo Seoraeseom Island (반포 서래섬)

On the Han River is a tiny artificial island built in the 1980s. It’s a wonderful place for a picnic, a beer, some delivered fried chicken or even a nap. Hang out till sunset before you head back into the city for dinner and drinks.
